Custom TBags, LLC may accept customer-supplied jackets and vests for custom transformation. Our creative team can take the pieces you provide and use our experience with sewing, rhinestones, painting, jewelry accents, ribbons, embellishments and other techniques to turn them into a Custom TBags Original created especially for you.
Because every project is different, all custom projects must be discussed and accepted by Custom TBags before you send us your items.
You provide the foundation
For custom orders, the customer provides the jacket or vest. We strongly recommend purchasing and trying on your garment before sending it to us, so you can be sure you're happy with the size, fit, length and style before we begin customizing it. Custom TBags is not responsible for the fit or sizing of customer-supplied garments.
You will also provide the primary pieces you want incorporated into your design. Depending on your vision, these might include:
- Patches
- Shirts or fabric with graphics you want incorporated
- Decorative appliqués
- Heat-transfer or vinyl designs
- Decals or other appropriate decorative elements
- Special memorabilia or meaningful pieces
- Other materials we've discussed and approved for your project
If you're not sure whether something can be incorporated into your design, ask us before sending it. Part of the fun is figuring out what we can create together.
Why you provide the main design elements
Many of the materials used in our regular creations are discovered through thrift stores, resale shops, donated materials and other one-of-a-kind finds. That's what makes our creations so special — but it also means we cannot guarantee that we can locate a particular patch, image, shirt, design, color, artist, team or theme on demand.
If you have a particular vision, supplying the main design elements gives us the best opportunity to bring that vision to life. And definitely talk to us first — you never know what treasures we may already have waiting in our creative inventory.
The design process
Once your approved package is received, please allow up to four weeks for the initial creative design and layout process. During this time, our team will review the garment and materials you've provided and develop a proposed layout.
We will not permanently attach the main design elements until you approve the proposed design. We will send you photographs showing our proposed layout, and you will have an opportunity to review the placement and overall concept.
Your approval is important
You must provide written approval before we move forward with permanent customization. Once you tell us yes and approve the design, you're giving Custom TBags permission to begin permanently altering your garment.
After approval, our creative team gets to work. Depending on the individual creation, we may sew, paint, rhinestone, embellish and add jewelry, ribbons, trims, decorative accents and other special details that complement your theme.
Because much of this work is artistic and performed by hand, the completed piece may have natural variations from the preliminary layout. Your approval covers the overall design concept and placement while allowing our artists reasonable creative discretion in the finishing details.
How custom pricing works
Custom projects are priced according to the actual work and materials required. Our current custom labor rate is $20 per hour.
As a general guideline, an average custom jacket requires approximately 4–5 hours of hands-on customization, which would typically equal $80–$100 in labor.
Your final price will include:
- Labor — actual customization time at $20 per hour
- Additional crafting materials — any Custom TBags supplies used to complete or enhance your design, such as rhinestones, ribbons, jewelry accents, paints, thread or specialty trims
- A $20 service and overhead fee
- Return shipping
Because every custom creation is different, the 4–5 hour labor figure is an estimate, not a guaranteed final price. More detailed or complex designs may require additional time and materials. If we believe your requested design will require substantially more work than a typical custom project, we will discuss that with you before proceeding.
Shipping your items to us
Customers are responsible for the cost and safe shipment of their garment and design materials to Custom TBags. We strongly recommend using a shipping method that includes tracking and appropriate insurance, particularly when sending valuable, sentimental or irreplaceable items.
Please do not ship anything to us until your project has been discussed and accepted by Custom TBags and you have received shipping instructions from us.
Completion and return shipping
Once your custom creation is completed, we will provide your final balance based on the labor, additional materials, service and overhead fee, and return shipping. Final payment must be received before the completed item is shipped back to you. Once payment has been received, we will carefully package your Custom TBags Original and send it home to you.
Please don't send something you can't replace
Customizing a garment involves permanent alterations including sewing, adhesives, painting, cutting, heat application, rhinestoning and other artistic techniques. For that reason, we strongly recommend not sending heirloom, highly valuable or irreplaceable garments or memorabilia unless you fully understand and accept the risks associated with permanently altering them.
Your property while it's with us
When we accept a custom project involving a customer-supplied jacket, vest, shirt, patch, fabric, jewelry, memorabilia or other material, we'll make reasonable efforts to care for those items while they're in our possession. However, customization involves permanent alteration and carries inherent risks. Depending on the project, our artists may sew, cut, paint, adhere, rhinestone, heat-apply, pierce, alter or otherwise permanently modify customer-supplied materials.
Custom TBags cannot guarantee the condition of items while they are in transit to us or after they have been transferred to the return shipping carrier.
Unused materials
Unless otherwise agreed before the project begins, customer-supplied materials that are not used in the finished creation will be returned with the completed item when reasonably practical. Very small scraps, cut pieces or materials altered during the creative process may not be returnable. If there's something you absolutely want returned regardless of whether we use it, please tell us before work begins.
Unclaimed and abandoned custom orders
We want every completed creation to make its way home. When a custom order is complete, we'll contact you with the final amount due. Payment is required before the completed creation is shipped. If we don't hear from you, we'll make reasonable attempts to contact you using the information provided with your order.
Finished custom items and customer-supplied property cannot be stored indefinitely. If a completed order remains unpaid or unclaimed for an extended period, Custom TBags may take any steps permitted by applicable law regarding storage, additional costs, return or disposition of the property. We will not treat customer property as abandoned or dispose of it except as permitted by applicable law.
Please keep your email address, phone number and shipping information current while we have your custom project.
Custom means custom
Once you approve the design and we begin permanent customization, the project cannot be returned to its original condition. Because the completed garment is created specifically for you using your garment, your selected materials and your approved design, custom orders are final and are not eligible for return, exchange or refund except where required by applicable law.
Please carefully review your design photographs before giving us your approval.

Custom projects are accepted at the discretion of Custom TBags, LLC. We reserve the right to decline projects that we believe cannot be completed safely, successfully, within the customer's expectations, or using the materials provided.
